Board Trustee Kathy Smith has lived in El Campo all her life. She is proud to be a Ricebird, having played sports and graduating from El Campo High. She taught 7th grade history for 27 years and was recently elected to the school board in May. Kathy says she wanted to continue her journey in education because she has a passion for students to learn and to be excited for new knowledge.  Kathy wants our schools to be a place people are proud of. She wants to help teachers be their best, and wants to listen to them and to learn ways she can help them as a board trustee.

Kathy is retired from teaching and is enjoying time with family and friends.
